If there's anywhere you'd love to visit, plan to visit or just plain fantasize about, here's where to tell us all about it.
Personally, I am on a brewery/brewpub kick and I'm inspired by the pink boots journey. I really want to get down to see the Dogfish Head brewery in MD, tour Flying Dog and Weyerbacher. They're not TOO far apart from each other so maybe I can scrap together a road trip soon :)
I really want to do a Vermont beer tour! Get a little snowboarding in as well at Stowe! Drink some Magic Hat, Otter Creek, Rock Art and go to some of the great brewpubs. And that really great pizza place too! Can't think of the name! That's right up in your neck of the woods isn't it?
the place in burlington? with the huge wood fire grill for the pizza?
it's called american flatbreads.
Long trail double bag (i believe that was the name) was great.
Had a lot of draughts out there but officially have forgotten the names.
The brew pub across from flatbreads on the corner with the great patio has awesome stuff as well.
Go to the Burton Flagship store. Really neat place complete with an outdoor skate park!
ahhh vermont... yum.
I just made it up to VT/NH over Memorial day weekend. We hit MAgic Hat and Vermont Brewing Company (the other 3 days were camping), but those were great and we loaded up on good beer to bring back to the cam grounds. If you ever make it to NYC, check out Chelsea Brewing Company -- by far the best brewery tour I've done.
That sounds like and awesome trip! I highly recommend Dog Fish Head the pub is in Rehoboth Beach, DE best visited in the summer time. My favorite way to travel their is via the Cape May/Lewis Ferry it is a beautiful ride and very direct. The brewery is in the next town over in Milton, just a short drive. If you are passing through Cape May, NJ I recommend popping into the Ugly Mug, you have never seen a mug club like this one! Have a great time!
I just went to Ebenezer's Pub in Lovell, ME. This is so far the BEST beer bar I have been to yet, well worth the trip!
I fantasize about traveling to the exotic and sexy state of Michigan. They have damn near as many great craft breweries as California and I haven't been to any of them. I especially want to go to Short's Brewing Company in Bellaire, MI. I've gotten my mitts on three of their beers and really want to try about thirty more. They are geniuses!
wow...those all sound great. I'd also like to tour the Sam Adams place. if you are ever coming through Columbus, OH check out German Village. There are a cluster of breweries that are great. Also, my boyfriend owns a meadery... so if you are feeling adventurous check out http://brothersdrake.com here's an article from last weeks Columbus Dispatch. http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/food/stories/2009/08/05/1A_MEA...
